WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 8, 2015) – Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) is pleased to announce that Barbara Schaefer McDuffie, managing director of business development for the firm’s D.C. office, has been appointed to the NAIOP Research Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
The mission of the foundation’s board of trustees is to provide leadership and vision to advance commercial real estate through practical research.
McDuffie has been a member of NAIOP since 1990. She is a past chairman of the association’s Northern Virginia chapter and has served three terms on its corporate board. She serves or has served on a number of key NAIOP’s committees including its business development, industry trends task force, membership and chapter relations and editorial board committees. She also served on NAIOP’s Trends in Real Estate Development National Forum. McDuffie was named a governor of the foundation earlier this year.
“Trustees play a vital role in leading the foundation into the future and Barbara brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our board,” Wendy Mann, Certified Association Executive (CAE), executive director of the NAIOP Research Foundation said. “Barbara is well known and respected in the industry and will contribute greatly to advancing the foundation and our research.”

McDuffie will also serve as chairman of the fundraising committee for the foundation, spearheading the group’s efforts in planning for and meeting the annual fundraising goals and engaging new foundation governors.
