New York (May 16, 2014) – Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause (Baker Tilly) today announced that Litigation and Valuation Services partner Harold Deiters has been elected to the role of vice president, and Audit Partner Paul Becht has been elected to the position of board liaison with the Suffolk chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Deiters is a partner in the litigation and valuation services practice in Baker Tilly’s New York regional office. He has vast experience in the areas of business appraisal and forensic accounting covering valuations for matrimonial settlements, estate tax purposes, gift planning, shareholder disputes, buy/sell agreements and complex forensic accounting projects. His combined audit and investigatory skills result in meaningful solutions to economic damage and lost profit problems. Additionally, Deiters has rendered his expertise in accounting and auditing for public and privately held companies, including manufacturing, wholesale and retail distribution, professional service organizations and not-for-profit organizations. His industry involvement includes NYSSCPA and the American Institute of CPAs.
Becht, an audit partner in the debt collection services practice in Baker Tilly’s New York regional office, brings more than 15 years of accounting and auditing experience in both public and privately held companies, including debt collection agencies, real estate investment trusts, bio-technology, not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing, wholesale and retail distribution and professional service organizations. He provides guidance on accounting policies, as well as procedures to improve the operation of the accounting function and strengthen internal controls. Becht helps clients understand complex accounting issues, including stock option compensation and business combinations. He also performs collateral reviews for banks and credit unions, and renders assistance to international clients in Asia. His industry involvement includes NYSSCPA, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals and the American Institute of CPAs and others.
