Phase two of the Requirements of Participation (ROP) Final Rule promulgated by CMS in September of 2016 is required to be completed on Nov. 28 of this year. The ROP states that providers must be prepared to deliver their Facility Assessment document to the surveyors during any survey. The purpose of the Facility Assessment is to determine what resources are necessary to care for residents competently during the daily operations and in emergencies. The intent of the Facility Assessment, as outlined by CMS is to evaluate their resident population and identify resources needed to provide necessary person-centered care and services required by the residents.
