Jessica Mastropietro, a partner in the tax and assurance group in the Washington, DC office, has been with Baker Tilly since 2004. With more than 10 years of experience in the profession, Jessica focuses on assisting her clients to effectively navigate complex tax return preparation, compliance and planning, as well as managing the delivery of retirement plan audits. She has substantial experience working closely with clients to address their tax, accounting, advisory and transaction needs with a primary focus on the professional services industry and owners. Jessica combines strong technical tax skills along with her knowledge of leading automated technology tools to serve many of our largest multi-state law firm partnership clients. Jessica was recently recognized as a nominee for the GWCPA “Women to Watch” in the CPA emerging category.
- Responsible for overseeing the overall tax compliance clients, including managing the preparation of federal and state income tax returns for large, multistate partnerships
- Provides tax planning and consulting for professional service firms, as well as closely-held businesses and their owners
- Consults with clients on a range of modified cash basis and income tax basis accounting matters
- Audits employee benefit plans across multiple industries, including a variety of defined contribution plans, as well as defined benefit plans
- Researches and interprets the requirements of the Department of Labor (DOL) and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
- Responsible for managing various income tax basis assurance engagements
- Provides training on efficient and effective partnership tax preparation
