Baker Tilly Celebrates International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day and as Baker Tilly joins the world in honoring women and their impact, we pledge to #BalanceforBetter.

We all share the responsibility for gender equality. The better the balance, the better the world.

At Baker Tilly, we take this very seriously. Every day, we work to build a diverse, engaging and inclusive culture where every woman – and man – is respected. A workplace where everyone can reach her or his full potential. This is mission-critical to our ultimate success.

We celebrate International Women’s Day on the heels of an outstanding year for our firm. It included a refreshed global brand and several strategic combinations that made us a more diverse and truly global organization. We’re feeling the momentum.

We see a gender-balanced future. With more to be done, standing still is not an option.

For over a decade, Growth and Retention of Women (GROW) has helped spark many of our firm’s innovative workplace programs and policies. As one of our signature diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives, GROW is an agent of change that has benefited women and men alike. GROW will continue to play a big role in how our team communicates, collaborates and connects across our firm.

To speed progress, business leaders must listen, learn, and yes, lead with tangible action. As chairman and CEO, I am committed to helping the women and men of Baker Tilly move forward equally. I’m honored to work with a number of talented leaders across our firm in executing our diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy. Our firm is having powerful conversations about new ways to open doors and opportunity. And as we challenge ourselves to think differently, we also will act differently to make a bigger impact. We want to be at the forefront of the D&I movement in our profession. That’s one of the reasons we made a pledge to CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, the largest collection of business leaders committed to sharing successful diversity and inclusion initiatives. It gives us unprecedented access to fresh insights and perspectives, best practices and a vast network of world-class companies with a common goal.

As important as these business commitments are, my daughter and son provide an even stronger imperative for action. I feel called upon to do what I can to make the world better for them. I pledge today and every day to strive for gender equality. There really is no better time than now to do what’s right for tomorrow.

On International Women’s Day, and every day, let’s work together to make it a reality. #BalanceforBetter.
