Yanfeng Automotive Interiors unifies global workforce on modern Oracle HCM Cloud platform

A global automotive interior supplier employing over 35,000 people across 18 countries on four continents.

The business challenge

This large automotive interior supplier had recently undergone a divestiture from its former parent company, and was faced with the immediate need to transition to independent HR systems in a condensed timeframe. This afforded the opportunity for the organization to evaluate their current HR practices as a whole and identify a new, integrated HR solution to meet their complex global requirements. Challenges associated with integrating their current processes and infrastructure consisted of:

  • Consolidation of three regionally disparate legacy HR applications
  • Global processes that were implemented and governed differently across the regions
  • Inconsistent data and infrastructure design across the regions with unknown data quality

To respond to these challenges, the organization embarked upon an HR Transformation to replace its existing Talent Management and Talent Acquisition processes and technology, followed by a Core HR implementation to support their workforce management plan.

The Baker Tilly approach

Baker Tilly applied an exhaustive approach throughout this project, working with the client to define a transformation roadmap in the context of their priorities and interdependencies. Baker Tilly led the organization through a process to establish foundational elements for the system and translate the newly divested organization’s structure into the system design. This allowed the enablement of new Talent Acquisition and Talent Management processes and technology, which were a high priority for the organization.

The team leveraged leading practices to drive system design and configuration while simultaneously assessing fit to geographic or business unit specific requirements. With the client team, Baker Tilly developed a Global Common Model to drive HR processes across the globe, and then executed an extensive local requirements gathering process to ensure all local and legal requirements were met.

Now that talent pain points have been addressed, the team is leveraging the foundational work to fully implement Core HR processes and technology to support critical HR transactions and self-service. Baker Tilly will continue to leverage industry knowledge and Oracle HCM Cloud expertise to support the rollout of the global solution to satisfy the client’s business strategy.
