Baker Tilly’s energy and utilities team is a proud exhibitor at the Wisconsin Section of American Water Works Association’s (WIAWWA) 96th Annual Meeting. This is conference brings together the state’s utility decision makers with policy makers and peers to share ideas and trends in Wisconsin and the water industry.

Jodi Dobson, partner on Baker Tilly’s energy and utilities team, will present an overview of recent and potential standards issued by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board on topics such as pensions, other postemployment benefits, asset retirement obligations and leases.

Building a strong financial foundation

Service reliability, reasonable rates, sustainable operations and the balance of operational, capital and regulatory needs are some of the challenges water utilities face. During this session, Jodi Dobson of Baker Tilly will share policies and practices to help utility management develop the foundation for a strong, sustainable utility.

Jodi Dobson of Baker Tilly will facilitate this hands on discussion about utility budgeting. Come with tips and questions for analyzing historical data and trends, forecasting changes and relationships between revenues, expenses and capital projects.

Thursday, Sept. 21 – 11-11:30 a.m. CT

Tony Ollmann, firm director of Baker Tilly’s construction risk management practice, will present on risk and cost minimization strategies for your construction audit.
