Rebekah Martin, partner in the higher education/not-for-profit group of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, has been with the firm since 2005. She specializes in performing financial statement and compliance audits for higher education institutions and other not-for-profit organizations.

Experience

  • Serves as partner on financial statement and employee benefit plan audits for not-for-profit organizations and private colleges and universities
  • Serves as partner on audits of government programs of federal and state awards received by not-for-profit organizations and private colleges and universities
  • Performs agreed-upon procedures and reviews engagements for private colleges, universities, and not-for-profit organizations
  • Manages benchmarking ratio projects for private colleges and universities
  • Performs operating and efficiency reviews for organizations, including internal control reviews and sustainability analyses
  • Assists clients with implementation of new accounting standards
  • Assists with financial statement preparation
  • Provides accounting assistance, including accounting for endowment funds
  • Develops and delivers trainings for not-for-profit organizations and private colleges and universities
  • Serves on the firm’s technical committees for not-for-profit and single audit
