VIENNA, VA – Accounting and consulting firm Beers + Cutler today announced it has rebranded as Baker Tilly, two months after merging with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP.

The former Beers + Cutler, based in the Washington, DC region since its founding in 1976, will serve as the firm’s east coast hub as Baker Tilly continues its national expansion. The combined firm has annual revenue of more than $250 million and more than 1,400 team members.

“While the name has changed, our level of commitment and dedication to our clients’ business needs remains the same," said Ed Offterdinger, the former managing partner of Beers + Cutler who now serves as the regional managing partner of Baker Tilly’s East Region, as well as the vice-chair of the firm’s management committee. “Joining forces with Baker Tilly is about creating opportunities for our clients and our people. As the marketplace evolves, and as the needs of many of our clients become more complex, becoming part of a national firm with a greater breadth and depth of resources will serve our clients well and position us for continued success."

The firm will continue to operate from its office in Tysons Corner, which will soon display the Baker Tilly name. It will also maintain its high level of visibility in the community through continued involvement with many local business, civic and nonprofit organizations.

On June 1, 2009, the former Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP changed its name to Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, becoming the exclusive U.S. branded firm in the Baker Tilly International network. In addition to the DC region, the firm also has offices in Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York and throughout Wisconsin.

“Merging with Beers + Cutler, also an independent member of Baker Tilly International, enhances our ability to serve clients and strengthens the brand in the U.S.," Baker Tilly CEO Tim Christen said. “We believe in the power of the network and the value it brings to our clients around the world."

Baker Tilly International is the world’s 8th largest network made up of 147 high quality, independent accounting and business services firms in 114 countries, with 26,000 professionals. The combined worldwide revenue of independent member firms exceeds $3 billion.
